Hi,

1.       When was the last time it was working fine?

2.       Which version of Internet Explorer is installed on the computer?

3.       Have you made any recent software or hardware changes on the computer?

Method 1:

I would suggest you to run the Fixit from the link mentioned below and check.

Fix Internet Explorer add-on problems when IE hangs or freezes

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/ie_freezes_or_crashes/en-us

Check if the issue occurs, if it does proceed to method 2.

Method 2:

Follow the steps from the link mentioned below and check

Tips for solving problems when Internet Explorer crashes or stops working

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/tips-for-solving-problems-with-internet-explorer

**Note:**Resetting Internet Explorer is not reversible. After a reset, all previous settings are lost and can't be recovered. Rather than resetting everything, you might want to reset specific settings in the Internet Options dialog box or delete your webpage history.

Note: There is a chance of data loss if any files are infected and which may be deleted in the clean up process.

Hope this helps and keep us posted if you need further assistance.

Have you checked your antivirus software security settings? It might also be possible that your system is automatically downloading third-party plugins (even after a clean install), so let's disable it. Here's how:

    1. Open Internet Explorer. Click on the gear icon at the top-left corner of your browser.
    2. Click on Internet Options, and then click on Advanced.
    3. Under Browsing, click to clear the Enable third-party browser extensions check box.
    4. Click Apply, and then click OK.
    5. Restart Internet Explorer.

In the last year I have seen, at hundreds of clients and experienced myself, what appears to be Microsoft's apparent desire to stop people from using IE by causing incompatibilities with common web sites. Whether this is caused by Windows Updates or lack of updates doesn't matter. It seems their push to Edge is failing as 99% are switching to Chrome or Firefox and not experiences these same issues. In my opinion they should have kept the IE look and feel and updated it's features rather than scrap it altogether. Then again this was my opinion when 1st beta testing Windows 8 a year before it hit the market. It only took Microsoft 3 years to admit the 8 interface was a failure and fix some issues with 10. The current focus group policy or lack of is hurting MS in my opinion.

    Hi,

To isolate your concern, we would like to ask a few questions:

    • Do you have a stable internet connection?
    • Have you tried using other browsers?
