Windows 8 Pro cannot boot - Error 0xC000021a

Hi

I upgraded my son's laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro. I has been working fine for a few weeks. But now when booting It halts iwth the error code 0xc000021a. I have tried the following options

Refresh - this fails with the error 0xc000021a

System Restore - this fails with 0xc000021a

Safe mode boot does not work

I can start the cmd console

Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

    Is this a BSOD.

    If it is then upload minidump on skydrive and share the link here.

    I've been tracking the (0xC000021a) error for almost a year.

    I've checked many...many articles, but no solution came out.

    I reported the error to Microsoft throw a live support session.

    Because I didn't find a solution (yet), I like to share what I know about the problem, so it might help

    someone who's smarter to fix this error.

    I've installed Windows 8 Pro on an 100 different computers, and the error occurred on 3 computers only.

    I reinstalled the same version of Windows 8 Pro that was before on the 3 computers and the error never occurred on 2 of them.

    The error on the third computer kept occurring. The third time it did, I installed Windows 7 on it, and it's working like a charm.

    Microsoft said that this error is probably caused by a third-party program or driver.

    I agree...

    This happened to me this morning. Windows update reconfiguration started and now I get this error.

    This is not a new install. I have been running Windows 8 for months.

    This was caused by the latest Windows update!!

    Unfortunately none of the fixes here appear to work either so I have an unusable laptop. As I downloaded Windows 8 upgrade from their website , I do not have a CD to fall back on. Looking forward to a few minutes on the phone to Microsoft now.

    I can here it now; "it is nothing to do with us ..."

    Why even reply if you agree with Microsoft Tech Support?  It just proves that you are as incompetent as they are!  This reboot loop is a friggin nightmare!!!!
