Hi

I upgraded my son's laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro. I has been working fine for a few weeks. But now when booting It halts iwth the error code 0xc000021a. I have tried the following options

Refresh - this fails with the error 0xc000021a

System Restore - this fails with 0xc000021a

Safe mode boot does not work

I can start the cmd console

Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

I'm having this problem now and I totally agree, I am now rethinking the mac. I cannot deal with constant system updates that break my computer and force me to spend hours fixing. Its not feasible.

I finally gave up and loaded out an open source OS from the linex line. I chose umbunto because it resembles win7. Most look more like apple.

Why on earth did they create Win 8?

It has caused me so much grief. Bought a MS Surface Pro 3 - Win 8 has prevented it and me from being friends.

Now this "error 0xc000021a" has stopped what little progress I was making. I ama NOVICE at solving these problems.

I just googled the error and will try the automated suggestion: (Download (0xc000021a) repair utility.

Keeping my fingers crossed when I try it ....
