I found a possible fix, in advanced settings go to System Restore and go back to yesterday's restore point or any point you have before the update. However you need to make sure to turn automatic updates off beforehand.

Hi
I upgraded my son's laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro. I has been working fine for a few weeks. But now when booting It halts iwth the error code 0xc000021a. I have tried the following options
Refresh - this fails with the error 0xc000021a
System Restore - this fails with 0xc000021a
Safe mode boot does not work
I can start the cmd console
Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

2015-01-15T22:00:01+00:00 Ok this is the second request because I left something out. I have a tablet and for some reason it does not act on the number or f keys when in the startup settings screen. Can a boot without driver signature enforcement be done any other way? c******@Hotmail.com

2015-01-16T08:23:12+00:00 Hey Carl
Actually i don't know any alternative way to boot without driver signature enforcement.
Buy if you have problems with your tablet's keyboard, try connecting a hardware keyboard to tablet and press boot keys using that.
I hope it help.
Good luck

how you did it? I have the same situation. How you "force drivers to have signature disabled"?
thanks.
