Windows 8 Pro cannot boot - Error 0xC000021a

Hi

I upgraded my son's laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 8 Pro. I has been working fine for a few weeks. But now when booting It halts iwth the error code 0xc000021a. I have tried the following options

Refresh - this fails with the error 0xc000021a

System Restore - this fails with 0xc000021a

Safe mode boot does not work

I can start the cmd console

Any suggestions as to how to proceed?

    I'm having the same problem. I've tried several times just rebooting computer. I went ahead and started a system refresh I think. Now I am just staring at the windows 8 logo on a black screen. If it helps I was playing COD MW3 when my computer froze. I restarted it then I got the error. Any tips?

    I'm thinking that Windows 8 is a very beta version. Last errors that i've received:

    I'm working normally , famous blue screen appears (more beautiful in windows 8 ;-) ) : KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK error.

    After that, the only way to start my machine is with windows 8 installation disk.

    I hope, that microsoft resolve this problems as soon as possible, please...

    Three hours on the phone with techs from HP.  None of these suggestions work.  Sending me a new recovery disk.  Even asked me if I had deleted my recovery drive (which of course would not be possible if I cannot start the computer to delete anything).  Numerous instances of the computer going into some type of sleep mode where the only way to recover from was to hold the reset button in until the computer shut down (another problem that  could not be fixed by HP techs), which in turn caused disk errors. I liked Windows 8, for the few hours that it actaully worked.

    you don't have to be logged in to boot with "signatures off mode".

    when your PC is starting to boot, press F8 and a menu will be shown to you with some items. then select the option with name "bla bla bla Signatures disabled".

    that would be OK.

    I've got the same problem. New Laptop Dell with Windows 8 Home Edition preinstalled. 

    I can´t start my machine indeed from my DVD installation. PC reboot everytime with the same error.

    I've asked to DELL return my money or other operating system. Besides, i've had turn off my new  computer pressing power button several times. My advice is don't install windows 8 until windows don't fix this severe error.
