ok here's the new slogan for Microsoft once they address that windows 8 is a failure for mouse and keyboard users.   "retro from metro".

Really Ken, Like flying a airplane?.  This should not be as difficult or many hours required to learn how to fly.  Stupid answers just mean you don't have a valid answer.

Windows 8 may be ok for touch screen.  My monitor is on the wall, Do I really have to get up every time walk across the room and touch the screen?

I like touch screen for my smart phone.  I like keyboard and mouse for my computer.

Ken please feel free to make your childish comment's about my response.

No sense addressing the real issue.

Windows 8 failed for keyboard and mouse.  Please make a "classic toggle option"

Ken - learning to fly an airplane is easier than learning this pile of non-intuitive rubbish. Imagine the chaos if Boeing and Airbus suddenly decided to reverse the throttle positions or transpose the aileron and elevator controls on a airplane. I'm only glad Microsoft don't build planes. The whole point of standards and continuity is to avoid the need to learn new methods. If it ain't broke don't fix it!

Windows 8 is enough to make anyone move over to Apple. Perhaps this is a new idea in Microsoft marketing policy.

try xbuntu or linux mint both look very much like win xp , win 7 and with openoffice.org you can still open and work with your ms office files. best of all ... these operating systems and programs are free. im using ubuntu 13.10 and getting used to it is much easier than messing with a cell fone ap/os without a touchscreen . who would want to reach 4 feet back to their monitor just to swipe anything anyway? it was really retarded to make a cell fone type OS for the PC .

Sounds more computer hardware (and perhaps Internet router) connected than Windows 8.1 connected.

Make and model of the computer in question?

Learning to use windows 8 is one thing, but watching it go at a snails pace is another. Brand new computer. I have updated and it works so different than windows 7. I was so glad to skip Vista. Windows 7 worked so well and was fast and no crashes.  Never had to do a recovery. I have already had to do a recovery and have had my computer about 2 months. It would not work after i did an update. Same thing happened to some of my friends. For the ones that like windows 8 , good for you. I use my ipad and iPhone now more than my computer, as it is just too frustrating to use. Takes forever to download a site, and no it's not my internet connection. Did not want to go to an apple computer, but wish I had.

Add anything positive/productive you can here:

Modifying Windows 8.1 for those who want to ease into the new stuff... (and extra tips)

Maybe it will help condense some of these methods/tips together for other people?
