I HATE Windows 8. This is the worst OS ever invented.

PS: Dell does not provide downgrade rights.  I have asked customer support.

Ken Blake sounds like condescending.  News to Ken: Window 8 blows.  I have wasted 2 weeks of my life learning it and I hate it more than we I first opened it.   It should not be as hard as flying a plane.  So, that is a terrible analogy.

Hidden essential functions? side scrolling menus?  No capability to configure as previous windows version?  Internet explorer is configured different if launched from the start screen instead of desktop.  I can go on.

When I close steam I am forced to the start screen instead of my desktop.  I never want to see the start screen ... ever. 

Here is some advice to Microsoft.  Don't try to be Apple.  I am not sure who you are trying to please.  I will never have a touch screen or a tablet so I don't need an operating system for that.

If you have to download a third-party app in order to get the results you want for an OS then there is something wrong. If you have microsoft MVP's by the name of Ken Blake telling you that you are stupid because you dont like the new UI atmosphere then maybe its about time to switch to Apple or the google chrome netbooks and wait it out until windows 9, maybe switch to GNU/Linux since many things are getting ported over there. Maybe just download windows 7 and get a keygen to unlock it since you already technically paid for the product hated it I find no problem in that.

This particular computer did not come with downgrade rights.. that is the whole point but this was i7 with 8 GB RAM and 1 TB hard drive, which is what I wanted. This was Cyber Monday and this particular computer was only available with Win 8 and only for a short time for the money I paid for it... For what I need: i7 and as large a RAM and also hard drive as possible.. the rest did not matter to me albeit a non-integrated video card would have been nice... it still works quite well for what I need and doesn't get hot. I did not think it mattered if it were Win 7 or 8 since I have used all of Windows operating systems (except for 2000) and I never ever had any probllems since I could always either go into the shell or just simply did not have to do any changes--as in the case of Win 7..

I had no clue about Win 8 acting and looking like a toy I would buy my grandkids... I don't care what OS I have as long as it lets me do what I need to do quickly and efficiently and 8 gave me the hardest time ever...

I am almost fine now.. Start8 was very useful and I no longer need to type in my password to turn it on.. things are looking up... albeit there is still some ways to go. And I may indeed install 7 on it if I cannot feel happy with it after a few weeks... I may just do that except that is an extra purchase I did not count on since this model did not come with an option of downgrading.
