I know this isn't a fix for those who use it, but if you don't you can uninstall Games for Windows Marketplace and Games for Windows LIVE Runtime and this update won't be offered anymore.

I did what Kim said.  I get the following in the MSI.  But it keeps asking me to install the update.

You need to uninstall Windows Live Essentials first and then process with the update.
