Windows 8 is Stuck in high contrast mode

I just installed my new Windows 8 couple of days back and accidentally turned the high contrast mode. Now whatever I do I can not go back? Is anyone else having the same trouble? When I go to PC settings it lets me change the ON/OFF setting, the slider bar, but nothing happens.

I re-booted several times, changes those PC settings those many times but zilch! it is stuck in high contrast mode.

What should I do? any help/guidance would be much appreciated.

I have come up with a solution to your problem.  I accidently clicked and turned on high contrast.  When I clicked to turn it off, nothing changed.  I went online to chat with an online Microsoft representative.  A man remotely controlled my computer to fix the problem.  I know what to do.  Go to your start page, then click on desktop.  Once you get to your desktop, RIGHT CLICK on the screen.  A small box will open to the right of the pointer.  Click on PERSONALIZE.  Then click on the WINDOWS theme under the 3 default windows themes.  You will click on the one with the flower on it.  This will turn off you high contrast

    I hope it's not to much of a bother, but I have another question (not sure if I should post here, or make a new thread entirely, so I'm trying here first). I went to system settings, and surely, I couldn't disable high contrast. The Flower theme trick worked, but now I can't change my lock screen wallpaper. It shows me a message about how 'high contrast is turned on and disables certain lock screen functions'.

              The weird thing is, the custom wallpaper I was using before the high contrast crisis is still applied. I should probably also mention I run the new windows 8.1 preview, and that's partially why I wasn't sure if I should post here, seeing as this was a solution for windows 8, and quite an old one.

              It might just be a bug in windows 8.1, in which I will have to report on it, seeing as Microsoft is always gladly accepting recommendations and feedback, but if anyone is having the same problem, and anyone has a solution (other than waiting for windows 8.1 to be officially released as an update) please let me know! It's little bother to me, but still something that needs to be fixed. Again,  feel free to let me know if I'm posting in the wrong thread.

    (P.S: I've tried restarting my laptop, and checked through each and every section of the settings app, with no luck on finding a way to disable this message and allow me to customize my lock screen).

    THIS IS THE BEST ANSWER!!!!!!!!!!!!

    very easy to do, and it corrected everything in one second....literally.

    I just spent 25 minutes (and I'm pretty good with computers) trying to set it back to LOW CONTRAST, and nothing would work.

    The left shift, left alt, and print screen combo shut off the high contrast, but it left my tiles black.

    Wow, thanx a million man, your solution is spot-on!!!!!! Dammit, I was so frustrated by this high contrast.  Thanx again, u're a star for sharing with us!!!!!!!

    Click to Change PC Setting, then click Ease of Access, then turn off High Contrast.........

    The problem is that nothing happens when you press the turn off button/slide.
