Windows 8 PC Reset. Taking toooo long.

Now I understand this will take a long time but I did NOT plan for it to take this long. When I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 the format and upgrade only took 15 minutes. I was having some pc issues and said Hey! How about I use this new reset feature and start over again. WORST MISTAKE EVER! I have no clue what this is doing but this is taking forever. So far this thing moves up 6% every hour. It's been 3 hours now and it's still on 16% Can you all tell me what is this thing doing or is this some sort of error? My hard-drive size is 1TB clean and around 900gb when a OS is installed.

'Refreshing' Windows 10 build 10041. Cancelled the first time after 12 hours and 4 hours just sitting at 49% mark.

Then I chanced upon this thread. Restarted the Refresh now. Guess it will take some 2-3 days to finish.

I'm so disgusted with Microsoft right now, I can't describe it. Why did you lie that the Refresh will 'take a few minutes' ? Dare to tell your customers the truth that this will take half a day, or three, or maybe a week. I'm deeply regretting my misadventure of even trying a Windows 10 preview. Feel conned by Microsoft. Windows 7 at least works.

    Hi-

I did a full reset on my laptop, and I have been stuck at45% for about 18 hours. Should I be worried? My laptop is about three years old. I had to reset it because of a virus. What will happen if I turn it off? Thanks in advance!

My Dell laptop with Windows 8.1 became unstable and the screen started wobbling. Fortunately wobbling stopped after 3 minutes. I immediately reset Windows 8. The first 30% took 2 hours but the remaining 70 took only 45 minutes. The computer is OK now.
