Well, SilverBack_1,
Been around these computers well before MICROSOFT even started. I remember Windows 1.0, and have been using it ever since. As time has gone by, I have seen each version that Microsoft has come out with,
I am NOT A MICROSOFT BASHER, because I deal with Microsoft customers exclusively, not APPLE, UNIX, LINUX, etc... I have had plenty of experience dealing with versions 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.11, 95, 98, 98 2nd edition, XP, XP Pro, Vista, 7, and now 8.0 and 8.1. My desktop is 7 Ultimate 16GB RAM and my laptop is 8.0 with 8GB RAM. I will NOT upgrade to 8.1 because of all the problems I have seen from customers that have upgraded. Don't forget Microsoft is only a BUSINESS and in business to make money, so I think that they release their software to early, and because they have not worked out all the bugs, have to release PATCHES, like all the rest of the software companies. So, don't go getting on your HIGH HORSE about stupid things like THIS VERSION IS WINDOWS IS THE BEST OVER EVERYTHING ELSE... Each person that uses and learns a certain Operating System has the same thoughts, like "MY CAR IS SOOOO AWESOME, and I wouldn't drive anything else", and your experience does not say much about you.
We are going to have to WAIT on Microsoft to come up with a solution to the
"I FORGOT MY PASSWORD ISSUE". End users are not experienced enough to know that they need to make backup's, create a RESET YOUR PASSWORD flash drive, or any of the rest of the stuff.
You and your post sound like you are probably in your teens, or early 20's, just getting started using Windows. Geezz. Microsoft changed the world, but there are plenty of end users that do not get it, and especially when it comes to viruses. People just want to use the computer, and not deal with this aspect of viruses. If you are content with using 8.0 and 8.1, we'll see what you have to say next year when Windows 9.0 comes out, and Windows 10.0 the next year.
The problem with having to WAIT FOREVER on this RESET THING is stupid, and MS needs to come up with a solution to this problem. This 8.0 and 8.1 REFRESH YOUR PC thing is the stupidest thing I have seen, in ALL THE VERSIONS OF WINDOWS THAT THEY HAVE RELEASED, and it DOES NEED TO BE FIXED.
