Now I understand this will take a long time but I did NOT plan for it to take this long. When I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 the format and upgrade only took 15 minutes. I was having some pc issues and said Hey! How about I use this new reset feature and start over again. WORST MISTAKE EVER! I have no clue what this is doing but this is taking forever. So far this thing moves up 6% every hour. It's been 3 hours now and it's still on 16% Can you all tell me what is this thing doing or is this some sort of error? My hard-drive size is 1TB clean and around 900gb when a OS is installed.

Mine is also taking too long. I was supposed to sell my laptop at 6pm, so I started to reset the windows to its factory settings at around 13 o'clock. Right know its 17.30 o'clock and only 51% done.

So far it has taken almost five hours to reach 51%.

    Question:

If I interrupt it, does anything bad happens? Like damaging the hard drive?

    Thanks.

Ok, now its going a little faster. 86% completed. It was just cleaning my 500GB hard drive thoroughly. That's why it took so long. Wait! It finished. Thank god!!

    Good luck!

Doesn't look like you've asked any questions on this post. So sorry for your confusion. What is your question? Here is the answer I gave to this posts question on Nov. 3.

Mine was really slow until 30% or so. It took about 5 or 5 1/2 hours. Then it spead up. Total reset took 6.5 hours. Just let it go, it sucks but it will do it's own thing and it will do it right.

Hope that answers whatever question you had. Err, both of them.

I am having problem with Windows 8 reset taking forever. plz help. How do I stop it?
