I have the same model and have the same problem. This is nuts. 4 hrs later still on 20%
Windows 8 PC Reset. Taking toooo long.
Now I understand this will take a long time but I did NOT plan for it to take this long. When I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 the format and upgrade only took 15 minutes. I was having some pc issues and said Hey! How about I use this new reset feature and start over again. WORST MISTAKE EVER! I have no clue what this is doing but this is taking forever. So far this thing moves up 6% every hour. It's been 3 hours now and it's still on 16% Can you all tell me what is this thing doing or is this some sort of error? My hard-drive size is 1TB clean and around 900gb when a OS is installed.

2012-12-20T02:16:39+00:00 I am having the same problem with Windows 8 reset taking forever. I purchased a new Dell 660 and tried the feature out just to see how it worked before I set the PC up to my liking. The REFRESH option took all of 5 minutes. The RESET option is currently at 16% and it been going for 8+ hrs!!! WTF is going on there?? Its progressing but oh so slow. This PC does have a 3TB HDD so I assumed it would take a while but at this rate its going to take 3 days!

No .. it will be fine ... MS is just giving us ETA's that are not realistic. Some are expreincing up to 6 - 9 hours of PC Resetting. Started mine on my HP TouchSmart 320 All-In-One PC .... It's been 20 mins. @ 29% so far. It has been moving a percantge every 8-10 munites after it used only 5 munites to reach 27%. I hope it would be complete by 4am-6am .. it sucks but there is nothing wrong with the your pc or the software ... hang in there! -:)

2012-11-20T19:51:11+00:00 Well, I believe that if you choose the quick reset option, it wipes everything and resets to factory settings. If you choose the full reset, it does all of the above but then checks each drive for errors and then scrambles the data makeup on it. So that's what takes so long. But in my experience, Windows will successfully complete most formatting tasks, even if it takes hours.
