Windows 8 PC Reset. Taking toooo long.

Now I understand this will take a long time but I did NOT plan for it to take this long. When I upgraded Windows 7 to Windows 8 the format and upgrade only took 15 minutes. I was having some pc issues and said Hey! How about I use this new reset feature and start over again. WORST MISTAKE EVER! I have no clue what this is doing but this is taking forever. So far this thing moves up 6% every hour. It's been 3 hours now and it's still on 16% Can you all tell me what is this thing doing or is this some sort of error? My hard-drive size is 1TB clean and around 900gb when a OS is installed.

    ARE YOU KIDDING... I am a technician (25 plus years), working with a company out of Florida nowadays, working in Dallas, and I had a customer that forget their WINDOWS 8 password. BIG MISTAKE... After trying different things, like plugging in the drive to another computer, and renaming the UTILMAN.exe to UTILMAN.old, and then copying the CMD.EXE to UTILMAN.EXE... so that I could open up the DOS PROMPT and use the NET USE command to reset the password... This never did work, so I decided to do a RESET PC... Here it is going on 4 hours, and it finally reached 50%...

    I am reading that some PC are taking up to 48 hours to do this... ARE YOU KIDDING...

    I did buy a Windows 8.0 laptop, but after this experience...

    My Windows 8 laptop is doing great at "THIS" point,

    but GOD (or ALLAH, if you prefer, or BUDDHA, or whatever damn religion you practice) forbid,

    if I have a problem on it.

    Seems to me "I MIGHT BE BETTER OFF" with my laptop, if I just buy a new Hard Drive,

    buy a copy if Windows 7, and, if I can find the drivers for the laptop, just install 7 on it.

    NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY A WINDOWS 8 PC... Talk about a NITEMARE...

    This is worse that VISTA EVER WAS...

    This is starting to sound like OBAMACARE

    The only way I will ever do WINDOWS 8 in the future is in a VIRTUAL MACHINE.

    This way, you can "DELETE" the ENTIRE program, when you are FRUSTRATED WITH IT!!!

    REVENGE... AH YES

    My desktop is WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE... IT IS GREAT. Only way to go nowadays, unless you wanna go

    with LINUX and run WINDOWS # in a VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT...

    WINDOWS 8.whatever SUCKS BIG TIME, until they come out with a SERVICE PACK that fixes all this crapola.

    By that time, we will be on WINDOWS 11.0, and waiting for SERVICE PACKS, THAT FIX ITS GLITCHES

    is that the reboot from usb/cd or from or straight from youre windows recovery image ?because from the second one it can take that long just let it run and let youre computer do its job,when you reboot from usb?cd it should not take longer then 45  min.only for your updates gonna take a while

    Mines is at 48% after 8hrs. I was told by the tech support representative that the whole process was going to take 1-4.hrs. This is a fairy new computer. Hardly used it , so I decided to give it away to a relative. But I wanted to reset it before giving it away to make sure all whatever personal files and info were completely deleted. I thought it would take less time since I never downloaded any files, music, photos ir programs to this PC. 

    This is ridiculous :-(

    next time reboot from youre recovery disc/usb its faster and do the same job ,only youre going to need around 1 hour to update youre computer

    correct in my situation the same, til 40% took 4 hours than the rest was done in only 1 hour
