Where's Chess Titans in Windows 8?

There doesn't seem to be any Microsoft games installed be default.

Hi RobbieCharles,

If you take a look in the Store, there are several Chess games available there.

You can go to your Start screen by either clicking in the bottom left hand corner or pressing the Windows key, then go to the Store app.

Once in the Store, you can then search for apps by pressing Windows key + C and click Search in the Charms bar, and search for Chess games from there.

Hope this helps!

Well, after jumping through hoops to get Win8 chess lv.1oo installed, I was not happy with the experience.  The interface is hard to control and the look is strange.  Maybe it is a better chess engine, but if I was looking for top level play I would get Fritz.  I just wanted something simple, lightweight and easy to use, and Chess Titans fits the bill.  I do not like the Metro Apps forcing full screen apps on you. The whole idea of windows, and why I liked windows to begin with (stating with 3.0) was the ability to have multiple applications in separate windows open simultaneously.

    I uninstalled Chess Lv.100.

I agree.  I was VERY disappointed to see Chess Titans, Mah Jong Titans, Solitaire, etc. were not installed on Windows 8.  Please make a free download of the games available on previous versions available for Windows 8.

Both Mah John and Solitaire are available, as are past classics like Minesweeper.  There's also ones that weren't in Windows 7 that came back:  Freecell, Spider, TriPeaks (missing since Windows 3.1), and many others.  They're all free in the app store so you can get the one you want.
