Where's Chess Titans in Windows 8?
There doesn't seem to be any Microsoft games installed be default.

If you take a look in the Store, there are several Chess games available there.
You can go to your Start screen by either clicking in the bottom left hand corner or pressing the Windows key, then go to the Store app.
Once in the Store, you can then search for apps by pressing Windows key + C and click Search in the Charms bar, and search for Chess games from there.

This is pretty poor form. I already don't particularly like the gassy touch/mobile interface, lack of Start button, Program Groups, etc. You should ALWAYS maintain backward compatibility, especially when it doesn't cost you anything!
The problem with all the Windows 8 games (and all the other Windows 8 "apps" that you're forced to use) is that they have no ability to work within a, er, WINDOW. I have a big monitor, and don't want to fill the whole dang thing up with a game. I want to run Chess Titans, Spider Solitaire, etc., in one window while I do other things in other windows. That's why I purchased an operating system called WINDOWS.
This isn't Fullscreen Bloat 8. Or is it?
Please fix this. The best answer would be an official "Windows 7 compatibility kit" that allows familiar Start button behavior, installs the Windows NT/7 games, and a few other things. As much as it would make me grind my teeth, I'd probably pay for it. Although you should be ashamed to take my money.
StarDock has came up with a 3rd party solution for this called ModernMix. Ideally it should be included natively as an option for Desktop users aswell as Start8. These 2 will make Windows 8 act like Windows 7 but not bring back the games such as Chess Titans.
There is a lot of negative press about all the things Microsoft removed in Windows 8 from Windows 7.
Well said chrissypooch. I was fortunate enough to recently win an iPad mini in a competition. It has free access to a chess game, which if not quite as entertaining as Chess Titans, is almost there. I'm still very irritated with Microsoft, the clumsiness of Windows 8 and the loss of my favourite games. If the ease of navigating an iPad is equivalent to the ease of navigating a Mac, I know what my next computer will be.
I am a pensioner and played chess titans all the time. Now I have Windows 8 and the games are gone! Does Microsoft not listen to the people? Sorry I ever installed Windows 8
