Where's Chess Titans in Windows 8?

There doesn't seem to be any Microsoft games installed be default.

Hi RobbieCharles,

If you take a look in the Store, there are several Chess games available there.

You can go to your Start screen by either clicking in the bottom left hand corner or pressing the Windows key, then go to the Store app.

Once in the Store, you can then search for apps by pressing Windows key + C and click Search in the Charms bar, and search for Chess games from there.

Hope this helps!

Those of us who are naive users and who have experienced the catastrophic consequences of downloading material from unknown websites are unlikely to take advantage of your recommendation.  But I thank you for making the effort to try to help.

Yes, by far the greatest mystery in the disappearance of Chess Titans is Microsoft's reluctance to make it available - at any cost.  I've resolved my own emotional loss by using my iPad to play Chess Free.  It's acceptable - unlike Windows 8.

    Dear Mr. Blake:

I have looked at demos of both Rybka and Fritz and the graphics appear pitiful compared to Chess Titans. I believe many former Chess Titans users would be quite willing to shell out bucks for it IF it was available in the App Store. Of course it would be nice if we didn't have to have an AD at the top of the screen, but I suppose that would cost extra (God forbid Microsoft isn't allowed to pile money on to of their other piles of money!).

There are quite a few people involved in this Thread, which means there are countless others who may want Chess Titans also. So I have to ask myself just WHY Microsoft is so unwilling to add it to the App Store. Perhaps you can provide a simple answer to that question?

I was a big Chess Titans fan and also was destroyed over the past 1 1/2 years as I upgraded to Win 8 with no Chess Titans and no comparative alternative.

BUT, about 2 weeks ago in the Win 8 Store, I did find a suitable alternative: Its called "3D Chess Game" by A Trillion Games Limited and is free, and you can also pay small amount to upgrade to Plus. Either way, the game is/very close/ in 'look n feel' to Chess Titans. Its not exactly the former, but close enough--I'm happy with it and using it.

All you suffering Chess Titan fans should check it out.

As I said,  I don't like Chess Titans at all, but if you really want
it back, you can get it into Windows 8. See
