There doesn't seem to be any Microsoft games installed be default.

Hi RobbieCharles,

If you take a look in the Store, there are several Chess games available there.

You can go to your Start screen by either clicking in the bottom left hand corner or pressing the Windows key, then go to the Store app.

Once in the Store, you can then search for apps by pressing Windows key + C and click Search in the Charms bar, and search for Chess games from there.

Hope this helps!

Debbie you are not listening to the question.  People are asking for a specific title or game and you are providing a generic answer.  So the question is where is Chess Titans?  The reason for this is because Chess Titans is a unique and well put together chess game unlike a lot of the other chess games that are clunky, slow or over complicated.  For a long time windows has provided, Solitary, Spider and Hearts  and other games.  Then, with the introduction of win 8 they are gone.  Microsoft presented Microsoft 8 with the title, "Let them eat cake"  Don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with it, other than it requires a complete relearning of the OS in order to operate it.  So if you are wondering why people are dumping Windows 8 and loading up windows 7 there is your answer.  It took away a lot of internal games and gave them a very hostile OS.

I loved Chess Titans on my Vista PC--the graphics and ease of use were great, and the chess was good too. On Windows 8.1 I use The Chess Lv.100 free from the game store. It is OK, but the graphics and sound (clunk! clunk! when the pieces are moved) are a bit of a disappointment. On a recent visit to my cousin who has Windows 7 I was excited to play Chess Titans again--but found it wasn't nearly as good as the version I had on my Vista PC. Not sure if the fault was her PC, her set-up, or if the Titans software just wasn't as compatible with Win7.

Thanks for the advice. Legality aside, I do have win 7 on my laptop and other pc's to play Titans. It is not that I would play any game for entertainment, which I don't . It is just chess that I can use to help me concentrate while writing. I am aware of the chess games on Windows 8 and am sorry to say that none of them is up to bar.
