I have had the same problem and after uninstalled the VAIO Update everything goes normal again. Great advise.

i cant uninstall the vaio update because vaio care exists? windows 8 is bullshit, it should never have been released without further testing!!!

It is not a Microsoft problem, it is a Sony problem, they did not provide the driver patches for all of their bloat ware to work.

Go to "esupport.sony.com", and you now can find the Sony patches for most of your problems.

"Vaio update" will not work EVEN with their patch, so I suggest you uninstall the vaio care (useless anyway), and then you can uninstall the vaio update.

Yeah, and Sony will say we don't support upgrade on Win8 for computers purchased before 1.5.2011. My bad luck (like rest of those here) that I purchased my very faulty VPCEF3E1E Sony laptop just few days before that, and that I purchased among the first faulty Microsoft Win8 Pro Media Pack product. I should drop both and buy Mac. I mean, I don't need upgrade from Win7 on my 2nd Toshiba laptop, because it is old two month, so all people here are those who upgraded from Win7 theirs very faulty, full of the spam software Sony Vaio laptops with very faulty, full of the errors Win8. But Sony, especially Sony Europe, and Microsoft, you guys will lose hundreds of thousands customers, if not much more in no time, with those software m.a.f.i.a logics.
