To launch your applications, go to the Start Screen by pointing your mouse pointer to the left hand corner of the Windows 8 screen and click it.

Scroll to the right and launch your application.

In the same Start Screen, right click and click All Apps - you should see all installed applications on the system then.

    I don't see anything with "win" on it.  Do you mean the Windows key?  if so, please say so, we are ALL frustrated enough without having to translate something from "The Community".  My question has always been, WHY can't we get straight answers from Microsoft?  Their "support" sites are worthless, but I'd really like to hear from the company trained techs instead of folks like me who suggest, "try this" methodology - or in this case, not clarify exactly which key they mean.

    Sorry, LCRT, I'm just at my wits end.  My productivity has bottomed out trying to figure out how to use all these pretty little pictures with the cutesy names.  I'd really like to hear someone explain just exactly how this format is "better".  Aaaaarrrrgggghhhhh

    This did NOT help me at all!  I don't have anything that looks like this.  WHY didn't they just leave well-enough alone?  My productivity has bottomed out because of Windows 8.1 - and there doesn't seem to be any definitive, reliable, "support" from Microsoft.

    This the location of all programs:

    C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

    note that the "ProgramData" folder is a hidden protected operating system folder, you should make it visible from folder option > view > select "Show hidden files..." and uncheck the "Hide Protected operating system files" .

    if you create a toolbar on your taskbar using this path, you will access the "All Programs" (something like what you see in windows 7 start menu).
