To launch your applications, go to the Start Screen by pointing your mouse pointer to the left hand corner of the Windows 8 screen and click it.
Scroll to the right and launch your application.
In the same Start Screen, right click and click All Apps - you should see all installed applications on the system then.
You just made the sad point of windows 8 and MS and IE's way of "interacting" with their user base. RUN AROUND and AVOID. Do you see the list of steps to go through you just typed. When every other version you press one button and your selection is listed and you have people on here saying "you just have to get used to it"??? The other really sad point is to have apps screen but to install any REAL programs you have to go to desk top screen anyway... the "tiles" "charms" "apps" or whatever they want to call them this version, in Win 8.1 are a façade . Now why would ANY business person (or even a "gamer" )wish to do all those steps. And their response to the out rage was a very poor down loaded "fix" 8.1, and STILL did not include what was on previous versions. I wish to see all programs from a desk top and it goes to basicall "add remove programs" NOT the same. and have to go to an "app/charm/tile (LOL) screen and STILL not see it and right click on an empty screen blah blaah blah and THEN still have to go back to desk top to do any real work? The all programs view is in fact two clicks away from the desktop. Or even one click if you change the setting. Stop looking at old answers from previous OS versions.
Sorry, this is not helpful. The "All Programs" feature including accessories, games, and everything else has to be within one or two clicks of the desktop or Win 8 will never make it.
