Windows 8 is stuck in an automatic repair loop

My windows 8 get in a automatic repair loop and it couldn't repair it. And than it says log file d:\windows\system32\logfiles\srt\srttrail.txt

What to do?

do a selective boot up with bios

get cmd to open and check

bootrec /fixMBR

bootrec /Fixboot

bootrec /rebuildBCD

and also

chkdsk /r c:

chkdsk /r d:

chkdsk /r e:

chkdsk /r f:

then let repair go thowe again and should be stoped

I would suggest you to login to any other computer and create a Windows 8 installation disk. Using that disk you can perform the troubleshooting methods given below.

This was happening on a friends laptop who was very upset. I use Ubuntu (a version of Linux), so my first step was to insert my Ubuntu USB stick and boot up the laptop. I could see the partitions so made a backup of any files that were needed. You can get Ubuntu from here - http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop - scroll down for instructions on how to create a bootable USB stick.

I then travelled to another friends house who had Windows 8 on their computer.

Pressed windows button + r on their computer.

Searched for recoverydrive.exe

Selected install with files.

Inserted a wiped 16gb USB stick and waited for it to finish (takes a long time)

Then go to the broken computer, switch on and press F2 until the bios settings come up.

Change the boot order so that USB drives are first.

Insert the windows USB stick, save settings and boot from the stick.

I went to the command prompt and tried all of the solutions in this thread, none of them worked.

Chkdsk c: said something about the structure of the c: drive being broken.

I had already booted from an Ubuntu stick to copy any documents and files that needed, so decided to format the c: drive - this will wipe everything on the c: drive so use with caution - from the command prompt enter format c: - this will take a very long time.

Now exit and boot up from the windows USB stick again. Then choose the troubleshooting options and start recovery. This will intall windows 8 from the stick - this takes a very long time too.

It will ask about acvivating windows but I couldn't see an option for choosing a wifi connection. So went back to the main menu and chose the option for shutting down.

Then removed the stick and restarted. This went into Windows normally and also had the product key.

Now its working - spent about 12 hours trying to fix this. My recommendation would be to install Ubuntu.
