I forgot the password to unlock my lock screen. its a NOKIA LUMIA 900... HELP!!!

i have a Nokia Lumia 900, and i tried to reset it by using using the volume button, camera key and power button...but it isnt working! i dont know what else to do. i cant go to my "settings" tab and change the code because my phone is locked...i cant use it for anything, my screen is locked and i dont remember the password. i need to fix this and i need help, please someone help!

The only option if you have forgotton your password is to perform a hard reset.

  1. Power off your Nokia Lumia 900.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Down and Camera keys simultaneously, and then press and hold the Power key until the Nokia logo screen goes black.
  3. Release the Power key but continue to hold down the Volume Down and Camera keys until the phone reboots.

    Thank you for posting to the forum.  If you are not able to reset your phone with the steps provide by Jack, you might want to try the following steps.  I believe these are the same steps provided by Riley in the last post before yours.

    • Make sure your phone is charged (put it on charger to be sure)
    • Press and hold the volume down + power buttons until your

    phone vibrates and restarts.

    • When the Nokia Logo appears, press the volume down button repeatedly until

    an exclamation point appears.

    • As soon as the exclamation point appears, press the following buttons one at

    a time in a sequence:  Volume Up > Volume Down > Power > Volume Down

    If you still cannot get this phone reset the only other suggestion I have is to contact Nokia.  They may have other options for you or you may have to ultimately discuss phone replacement options.

    I bought a phone from my friend but the volume up button is broken is there any other way to reset the phone? She doesnt remember the password

    Thank you for posting to the forum.  If you are not able to follow any of the steps outlined in this article, I am afraid there are no other processes to reset that are documented.  At this point you might consider contacting Nokia to see if there are any other options available.
