Movie Maker 2012 - Black screen on playback
I recently installed Windows Essentials 2012 on my Windows 7 laptop. I went into Movie Maker and tried it out. Unfortunately when I wanted to preview something text or photos I had selected, a black screen appeared in the player. I can add text, music, photos and videos, but when I hit the play button, all I get is a black screen in the player. Is this something other people have experienced? Is there any way to fix this?
Thanks!

Had the same blank screen problem and converted back to Essentials 2011. That didn't work at first either, until I realized I had recently installed a Microsoft update (KB 2670838) which updates Direct3D components among other things. Once I uninstalled that Microsoft update, the 2011 version worked fine again. More info on that update here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2670838?wa=wsignin1.0

Our support specialists have checked your logs and adviced you to download the latest drivers for Radeon in this link.
Also, please download the the latest codecs for your videos (not the wlmp file). You can use Bing to search for free codecs for the video files, then install it on your computer.
Please let us know if the issue will persist.
Thanks.

Tried the driver link & now get this message: "AMD Catalyst Mobility cannot be downloaded due to incompatible hardware/software on your computer. The version of your graphics adaptor is not supported. Please contact your notebook manufacturer for a graphics driver update."
Any additional suggestions?
Thanks
