I’ve just started to run Windows 8 for the first time.  Have there been any updates released for Windows 8?

Yes.  An update for Windows 8 has been released that addresses a set of post-launch issues.  You will not be notified that this update is available during the first 24 hours after you run Windows 8 for the first time, however you can manually check for and install this update at any time.

If you are experiencing any problems with your Windows 8 installation, make sure you have installed the latest updates by following these steps:

1.     At the Start screen, type Windows Update.

2.     Tap or click Settings.

3.     Tap or click Install optional updates.

4.     Tap or click the link that says an important update is available.  If you want to install any optional updates that are available, you can click the link notifying you that optional updates are available as well.

Check all of the updates you want to install and then tap or click the Install button.  You will need to reboot your PC after installing the update for the changes to go into effect.

    We Bought a HP All In One Pavillion 23 with Windows 8 -

    Installed back in April and I went to Windows Update and

    it said that there were 58- Updates Available !  I, checked the settings

    and it is set up for Auntomatic Updates !    I downloaded and Installed them Manually,

    but I, do not understand why the Auto-Download is not working ?

    Anyone have any Reccomendations ?

    I have been chatting on-line with MS support.... about any and all issues.... They resolve all my issues quickly.  That's my experience.  I would certainly give them a try.  Even allow them to Remote control your machine.... Good luck

    Most of the black screen issues can be resolved after a BIOS update. For those with Inspiron, Latitude and XPS model, Dell has released the BIOS updates for those that upgraded to Windows 8.

    I have so far only had 2 issues one is my Saitek Cyborg keyboard driver will not install either through windows update keeps failing and direct from Saitek webby. Second issue I have is Call of Duty 4, keeps kicking for various reasons one is a Unknown Windows API funtion????

    Any Ideas on the keyboard front as its useless :(
