Batman: Arkham city: Games for windows live doesn't pop up!

Hi, I'm here today because I have some problems with Games for Windows Live, or GFWL. I used it for many games, including Arkham Asylum, in which GFWL works fine, but when I try to open up GFWL in Arkham city pressing home, nothing happens. I reinstalled GFWL, updated it, and did all sorts of things, but nothing seems to be working. Any fixes? (Basically, I'm saying that even with GFWL installed, GFWL does not pop up in Arkham City even when I press home button and the "LIVE" button in-game.) Thanks in advance.

the same problem i did everything that you guys did but nothing helped. maybe because i have 64bit system. i dont know but non of this three shitty sites help if somebody knows what to do  heeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!

    Hi there,

    I have the same problem. Exactly the same - I mean, GWFL works fine for me in many other games (including Batman Arkham Asylum which, by the way, I installed a couple of days ago just to be sure...) but it won't work with Batman Arkham City.

    I have tried everything you people have suggested (and many other things I've read on other forums)

    • Reinstalled GFWL countless times (cleaning Windows registry in between),
    • Installed Ms Live Messenger
    • Checked (twice) that the Ms Live Id Sign In Assistant service is running and set as automatic
    • Done that MTU thingie I read about somewhere else
    • Checked that GWFL client correctly connects to my profile and lets me access the Marketplace
    • (As I said) install Batman Arkham Asylum and verify that GWFL menu pops up and everything works perfectly
    • Launch the GWFL client before I launch the game (and check the GWFLClient.exe is still running at the same time)...
    • Launch the game directly from the Win32 Folder, with and without Admin Privs.

    everything.

    • Contacted WB Support... and they redirected me here since they couldn't really help me...
    • Etc. Etc. No dice.

    To sum things up... I bought the game days ago (BTW it's the "physical DVD" retail version). And I still haven't had the chance to properly play it. Well, if you don't count the first 2-hours session that was hopelessly lost when I exited the game, due to the fact that I can't save my progress...

    It's really starting to get frustrating... Please, there must be something I can do...

    Hi, people!

    I finally managed to get the game working, so I'd like to share it with you just in case it might be of any help to anyone.

    Many sites claim that either reinstalling Batman Arkham City or GFWL will solve the problem with the GFWL menu not appearing when game has launched. I did both things. Several times, actually. Reinstalled the game 2 or 3 times (I lost count...) and GFWL... well, maybe 5 or 6 times ... to no avail.

    Just the other day I was tinkering with the game's options just to check for something that could ring a bell and then I stumbled into the "Repair" option in the Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall (please note I'm using the Spanish version of Windows 7 Pro, so I'm not sure about how it translates into English).

    I mean: go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features > Uninstall or change a Program, search for the game in the list, select it then choose Repair. Windows will then start the repair process during which it will likely ask you to insert the original DVDs a couple of times. The repair will take quite a while (at least 20 minutes I might say...). But, after it's finished, launch the game again. And... voilá! the GFWL menu will appear! At least, it did for me.

    Now I have been able to spend a rainy weekend sitting comfortably at home in front of my PC playing this great game. :-)
