the same problem i did everything that you guys did but nothing helped. maybe because i have 64bit system. i dont know but non of this three shitty sites help if somebody knows what to do heeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!

Hi, I'm here today because I have some problems with Games for Windows Live, or GFWL. I used it for many games, including Arkham Asylum, in which GFWL works fine, but when I try to open up GFWL in Arkham city pressing home, nothing happens. I reinstalled GFWL, updated it, and did all sorts of things, but nothing seems to be working. Any fixes? (Basically, I'm saying that even with GFWL installed, GFWL does not pop up in Arkham City even when I press home button and the "LIVE" button in-game.) Thanks in advance.

2013-04-11T22:28:39+00:00 Actually I've found a simple solution, after trying numerous different ways to correct it:
Do a fresh install of GFWL (Yes, most of you will have done this already).
Navigate to your game's installation directory.
Whilst in the directory, go through > Binaries > Win32, and delete the xlive.dll file found there.
After doing so, you shouldn't have any issues. If you're concerned about this method, just back up the xlive.dll file first.
Hi. I tried doing exactly what you said but there is no xlive.dll file in my installation directory. What on earth do I do?

As soon as i installed windows 8 , i got rid of he
Mail, Calendar, People and Messaging apps.
Windows Live stopped working in Batman Arkham City after this.
I reinstalled this app from windows store:
and voila, Windows live works like a charm.
All the reinstall of GFWL, deleting xlive.dll as mentioned above did not come of any use for me.

2013-04-16T08:36:56+00:00 Nope no dice bro. Still doesn't pop up. My windows live is in windows 7 compatibility mode. Could that be the issue? Because doing that was the only way I could get windows live to pop up for arkham asylum. I'm on win8 64-bit.
