Shut down issue, Task Host Window appears.

original title:  Shut down of Computer

When I shut the computer down a Task Host Window appears and I have to Force the Shutdown, how do I get rid of the Task Host Window?

If I press Cancel, nothing happens and I have to click on Yes to get the computer to Shut down.

    Hi, I saw your answer, and thank you for the reply.

    1. I have this problem for quite a while. I did all the Windows Updates available, 2 Important and 2 Optional updates yesterday, accept one Optional Update which is the Intel Corporation - Display - Intel(R)  G41 Express Chipset. I don't think this update has anything to do with the fact that I cannot shut the computer down, because this problem occurred long before these updates!
    2. If I choose the Clean Boot option, won't I loose any data on my computer?

    Hi,

    From when are you facing this issue?

    Follow these methods and check

    Method 1:  Check for all the windows updates and install them.

    Install windows updates.

    **Method 2:**Perform a Clean Boot and check if it helps.
