Shut down issue, Task Host Window appears.

original title:  Shut down of Computer

When I shut the computer down a Task Host Window appears and I have to Force the Shutdown, how do I get rid of the Task Host Window?

If I press Cancel, nothing happens and I have to click on Yes to get the computer to Shut down.

    I have the same problem since the automatic upgrade issued around 10/26/2017.  Also, at times, the desktop START button stops bringing up the programs menu.  What's up?

    (on Windows 10 )I had the same problem. but only sometimes (about 6 out of 10 shutdowns this happened) Also noticed the task host manager takes longer to close properly in shutdown causing it to show up on screen. So i set the app priority level from normal to Above normal in task manager.[Open task manager>Details>(find the app Applicationframehost.exe )right click it>Set priority] I've done about 5-6 Shutdowns in last 3 days and all of them were uninterrupted good shutdowns. Hope this works on you.

    Thank you! It actually worked. Followed your steps and shut down my computer without a problem. And host task is not showing up anymore.
