Shut down issue, Task Host Window appears.

Hey,

All i do is start the task manager, go to process,

Right click and end process on "Task Host" <-- the app that wants to be shut down.. i havnt yet decided if im just gonna fibnd the file location and files and manually delete them.. i have not yet countered a problem by ending the process "Task Host"   <-- it doesnt reload or appear again and when i shutt down that hang in isnt there no more... i mean... i am looking into creating a routing file soo it automactically does this everytime on start up... I'll will keep you posted on it all..

As i said.. All i do is #1 Boot my computer up.. #2 ctrl-alt-del #3 bring up task manager #4 process tab #5 End process to Task Host #6 Use computer like i always have #7 Shut down after using computer (No pop up window or force shut down via to Task Host is prompting or ending task)

Go to task scheduler, choose microsoft=>RAC, it is triggered every hour, just change trigger, stop the option of running very hour. then go to taskmanager, end the process of "taskhost".

I've had the taskhost shutdown problem for a while now. It doesn't happen every time I shut down, but frequently enough to be annoying.

So I followed your advice and now the problem seems to have disappeared. At least on the latest restart. I'll see how it goes and report back after a number of shutdowns and boots.

Meanwhile: What is this RAC scheduled task thingy, and why does it make the shutdown hang sometimes?

If someone could explain it to me like I'm a twelve year old that would be great.

I downloaded this hotfix to my win 7 sp1 and when I run this fix a pop up tells me it is not aspplicable to my system.
