Security Updates for KB2518864, KB2572073, KB2633880, KB2656352 try to reinstall repeatedly

Original Title**: Automatic updates for Security Updates for... ...KB2518864, KB2572073, KB2633880, KB2656352 ...KEEP REPEATING AFTER SUCCESSFUL INSTALL**

My system information: Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3

I recently have had Automatic Updates appear for Security Updates for Microsoft .NET Framework... ...KB2518864, KB2572073, KB2633880 and KB2656352.

I click install updates and I watch them install successfully. And then they come right back wanting to install again and again and again. UGH!!

I have read many forums and attempted many fixes, (even the Microsoft Mr. Fixit). I am not too technical and refuse to attempt some of the fixes that had me going and making changes to the registry without knowing exactly what I am doing. I know that making one small mistake in the registry can mess up my enitre system.

I need a simple solution to this annoying problem. Please put the solution in laymen terms for the technically challenged.

As of 10 a.m pacific you shouldn't be getting these updates offered up anymore.

Well guess what, my desktop did the same thing this morning, installed the same three, successfully and is now waiting to be installed AGAIN. Well my fix will be the same as I did on my Netbook, I will be shortly going to the Update page, unchecking them and, checking the, "DO NOT SHOW AGAIN," boxes, until MicroCrap fixes IT EVER, this issue. Is Net Framework 100% even needed at all, for what??? Can we just blow all the net frameworks away, and never get these updates again?? And I am not a PC novice doing quite a lot of stuff. Just saved my Sis In Law a $130 charge from the Geek Squad making a service call, helping her over the phone. But I AM NOT JUMPING through those hoops that could take upwards of 3 HOURS. GIVE ME A BREAK MicroCrap. You PPL ought to be SUED!!!!!

And if and WHEN they DO FIX IT, can I assume if I then UNCHECK those, DO NOT SHOW AGAIN boxes, and then do another update search, that they will be GONE, HISTORY???? Or will they have to be there FOREVER, or until I figure out that Net Framework may not really be needed for my PCs to run???

I looked at some of the other threads that mentioned fixes. One involved the registry... where they said "be very careful." Are you kidding me? You want the average person to utilize a fix that involves the registry. Puh-lease.... give me a break.

How about this.... MICROSOFT... make a fix to your update ! so that all we have to do is click it and download it... just like all of your updates. Microsoft... you made those updates incorrectly... now Microsoft... you make the fix and don't expect the average joe to search and search for a fix. It's only fair.

I could not agree more! M$ I am NOT going to jump through hoops just to resolve this.. FIX YOUR UPDATE. This is NOT a user-error, it is a coding error ON YOUR PART, so YOU have the responsibility to do the work to fix this, NOT THE USER.

Maybe one of the news networks would be interested in reporting on this.
