How do I create new folders or delete folders that I don’t want in my Mail app?

The Mail app shows the folders that are configured with each mail account. If you need to create, rename, or delete a folder, sign in to the web service for your account, such as Hotmail, and make the changes there. Any changes you make to folders through your accounts’ web interface will be automatically reflected in Mail the next time you sync the account.
You didn't say how to rename a folder, you've only said "make the changes there." So I don't think the OP got their answer, and I as well would like to know how to simply rename an existing folder. Could you kindly answer this go around?

It will not work in windows 10. You have to go to Hotmail.com and make the changes.
I've given up on Windows10 for email so it's no longer an issue. Thanks
