What does 'possible heap corruption detected' mean, when listed in the Event Viewer?

I ran the memory disgnostics and there are no memory errors, which means that there are no problems with RAM.

There are no integrity violations, which I assume means that my computer's system files are ok. I am receiving  alot of 3036 warnings.  But given that my computer is running ok and it hasn;t crashed - other than when Outlook wouldn't open and Internet Explorer stopped working, earlier tonight, there have been no problems.  I have had lots of SideBySide warnings, but according to my computer guru, who is a qualified computer technician, Microsoft suggests that these warnings are ignored.

I won't be uninstalling Panda IS 2012, as it's a good program and AVG can't compare; likewise I won't be uninstalling Nero.

All I wanted to do was to find out what possible heap corruption detected means and no-one has told me that and whether these possible heap corruptions are serious.

Thankyou to those people who tried to answer my question, but I'm still no nearer to finding out how I can stop possible heap corruptions, without having to uninstall programs.

What version of Windows Media Player do you have?

In that case uninstall and reinstall is a recognised technique to resolve problems.

I have found Event ID: 3036 errors hard  to resolve. Windows Search is difficult to configure.

This note might be worth following up, especial with heap corruption in mind:

Errors details: "The URL was already processed during this update. If you received this message while processing alerts then the alerts are redundant or else Modify should be used instead of Add. (HRESULT : 0x80040d0d) (0x80040d0d)" - One user had his Windows 7 system freezing at startup and this event being the last one recorded in the log. After several other troubleshooting attempts, he replaced the RAM on that system and the problem was fixed.
