Hi EricHalliwell,

Welcome to the Windows 8 Community!

From your issue description I understand that after installing Windows 8 App store can’t connect to internet. I do understand the inconvenience caused to you. Do not worry; I am here to help you.

I would suggest you to check the Windows Firewall Settings and check if it helps.

a)      Type in Control Panel on the Start Page.

b)      On the left side, click Control Panel.

c)      Click on Windows Firewall.

d)      On the left pane, click on "Allow an app or feature through Windows Firewall".

e)      Under the Allowed apps and features, look for Store.

f)       Make sure you have a click in Private and or Public.

Then see if you can open the Windows Store.

If you have a 3rd party Firewall, you may need to change the settings to allow the app thru the Firewall.

NOTE: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you are done. If you are connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Hi.. Actually the prob fr me is 'i can't connect to windows 8 store' canu ples help

This is what worked for me:

    • Go to desktop, bottom right corner, click on "settings", click on "Change PC settings"
    • Under PC settings, click on "Users"
    • Check whether your PC is connected to your Microsoft account, if not click on "connect your Microsoft account" and follow the instructions to connect your account
    • After that go back to PC settings and click on the message in red font "trust this PC" (If this message does not appear after you connected your Microsoft account, then try opening Windows store and see if it works)
    • Otherwise, this will open your default web browser (I tried using Chrome but i couldn't complete the process to trust my PC, so i suggest using internet explorer for this process)
    • Login and follow the instructions to trust your PC
    • Then try opening windows store. This worked for me after trying all ways suggested

    Hope this helps!

Had the exact same problem: Attempts to enter windows store were met with the "no internet connection" reply, despite me having perfect internet connection, thank you. None of the recommended solutions solved it.

A few months back a sister of mine had installed a program called "hola" on my computer. It was supposed to change my IP-address so I could access american websites and the stuff. I couldn't remember if she'd installed it at around the same time the problem started or not but I still uninstalled it, you know, just tbsafe.

    Suddenly NO PROBLEMS.

Check the programs you've got installed. If any of them messes with IP-addresses, remove it. Hope it helps
