I HAVE THE SOLUTION!

Go to Control Panel/System and Security/Action Center

There is a title: "Review recent messages and resolve problems"

Under that I had three warnings. Than I turned everything on.

After that I was able to install .net 3.5 without the 0x800f0922 error code.

Use the

Control Panel | Programs and Features | Turn Windows features on or off.

solution.

I hope it works for everyone with this.

I had the same issue but updating the Group Policy Setting under administrative tab helped...

Refer to Method 2: Configure the Group Policy setting in .. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2734782/

Hope someone can save some time..

I can assure you that Deepak B is not likely to be returning to this thread three-months later.

In the spirit of Community, however, I can answer your two questions...

    1. If we download .NET Framework 3.5 from the MS Download Center and just install .NET Framework 3.5 will that work to solve the 0x800f0922 error ?
    2. If we have to do the REFRESH/RESET method, then tell us what ( Numbers, Discs, ect ) are needed to do it?

A1. No.  Note that .NET Framework v3.5.1 is included (i.e., preinstalled) by default on all Win8 computers.  If all were well with your computer, you'd just need to enable it (turn it on) per my earlier reply on Page One of this thread.

A2. If you don't know how to do a Refresh or a Reset, see this page: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/restore-refresh-reset-pc

    2. If we have to do the REFRESH/RESET method, then tell us what ( Numbers, Discs, ect ) are needed to do it ?

what are u going on about? All u do is download the chipset drivers and update ur bios. All things u download. DOWNLOADs on that page I showed u.

Steady on, old chap. I told you I'm old. What I saw was "find out if HP has tested the pc with Win8", which at first glance didn't seem very helpful. I thought I HAD updated my drivers. Dunno about the bios.

It's late here. I will look at it tomorrow and come back.
