I HAVE THE SOLUTION!

Go to Control Panel/System and Security/Action Center

There is a title: "Review recent messages and resolve problems"

Under that I had three warnings. Than I turned everything on.

After that I was able to install .net 3.5 without the 0x800f0922 error code.

Use the

Control Panel | Programs and Features | Turn Windows features on or off.

solution.

I hope it works for everyone with this.

I had the same issue but updating the Group Policy Setting under administrative tab helped...

Refer to Method 2: Configure the Group Policy setting in .. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2734782/

Hope someone can save some time..

I have the same problem as others w/r/t installing .net 3.5.

I also see that Microsoft is using same playbook as in previous years to avoid answering questions and persuade those with problems to just go away:

    1. repeat solutions that do not work;
    2. suggest radical solutions like refreshing, resetting, reinstalling
    3. blame the user
    4. telling people to start their own thread

...in other words, to waste peoples' time until they just throw up their hands and go away.

After a few weeks, a Microsoft acolyte will mark one of the wrong answers as "the answer".

I also was reminded and thought I should try again yesterday. Unfortunately I still get the same error and no install. For my sanity, I am trying to forget the whole thing...

I have done all updates and since I got reminder about this item I tried to install .net 3.5 again.

    It did work out!

So it must have been patched, would be nice if MS would notify us . . . .

    Kind regards,

    Jan
