can I use send to mail recipient with the mail app?

Microsoft does not have a clue what anyone is talking about when you right click on a photo or document anywhere on  your computer and choose mail to recipient and then a screen comes up that lets you pick what size you want to send and then click ok--it prepares to send and then nothing happens.  The only answer they have is to add an email address or use the share jewel (what a joke)

I have been trying to find a solution for over 2 months and nobody has helped me.  someone gave a link for .dll file association and that was a total bust.  I was on the internet on the Microsoft help desk for 1 hour and he never answered the question.  He said he had to discuss it with someone else.  After 20 minutes I asked him if he really worked for Microsoft and he said he did.  He did not answer anything else.  I would get replies that he appreciated me waiting.  I ended the connection.  He did not have a clue.  If you use the share jewel as they call it, you can attach a file and email it but you have to hand enter the address in.  It will save the ones you hand enter but will not connect you to your address book.  It will not re-size the photo so (mine are 10 MB or larger) so you are stuck.  It doesn't have anything but the To: box, no CC or BCC--they really destroyed a good thing with XP when they came up with Windows 8 which I was forced to buy.  I should have gone and bought an Apple--

Windows 8 is a bad slopping together of two disparate operating systems. It isn't ready for primetime - still very much a beta.

Oh glory!  I just got my Windows 8 taken out and Windows 7 put in.  All my troubles are gone. Windows 8 is a total nightmare and it is gone.  I am very happy.  Windows 8 is incompatible with everything. A disaster.

I wonder if Windows 8 developers act on this and include it in the new release. Cause, hé if they can get back the Start button back they should be able to get this working also, shouldn't they?

I don't agree. SHARE may be the way that we are supposed to send a file but it doesn't work.

Just try the use-case of sending some work product, a spreadsheet, MS Word output or even a PDF to a person via email.  It's very difficult to do under Windows 8.  Using the SHARE charm on a file most often results in a 'This app can't share.' error.

C'mon... the use-case of a sending a file via email is that that exotic or old-fashioned. Get to work and fix the goddam Mail app.
