can I use send to mail recipient with the mail app?

2015... a glimpse into the future (now the present):  Windows 10 is out; it looks beautiful; it does not "Send to" from a file explorer, even though the action is listed in the right-click menu.

Send To And mailto commands only work if you have a default email client installed. The Mail App in 8|8.1|10 is not an email client. Consider Windows Live Mail, or even better, a third party email client like Thunderbird. I have been using it since going from XP to Win7 in 2009. And you had to choose a program like that with Win7 because it had no email program or client installed period.

Fast-forward to 2015.   I won't fault you for your failure of prognostication, but Metro did not become the future.  Metro has been subsumed into the familiar Windows paradigm.  And "Send to:" persists as an possible action in the context menu.  Why?  Why tease us with this option?  Fix it or kill it, but don't call it our mistake for thinking that it should be possible but isn't; MS is offering the action then fails to deliver.

Microsoft, please fix this.  Twenty (+/-) lines of code, someone wrote here.

Now it's 2015.  Windows 10 is out and Metro is subsumed into the unified OS.  There is no "Metro side."  "Right click > send to > mail recipient" still does not work with the native Mail app which is visible in the Start menu accessible from the desktop, is configured with all my email accounts, and is the default for all that apply to it (so says the Default Program setting).  Can I now keep "Send to:" in my head now that Metro is gone?  I'd like for the "Send to:" in the context menu to "just work."

It is now 2015.  Windows 10 is released, and Metro has been subsumed into a unified OS experience.  Still, the Mail app cannot be used for "Send to" from a file explorer.  So sad.  I really like the new look of Win10 and my computer seems snappier.  But these little things crop up....
