Original Title: All of a sudden internet backgammon not working

Just your basic Windows 7 Laptop. Everything was working fine. Started playing internet backgammon....won EVERY game yeah! Took a break for an hour or so...came back and now have message telling me there is a problem connecting to the internet game server.  Anybody know what is wrong??  What it specifically says is "A Network error occurred while communicating with the game server." What the heck does that mean?

Hi,

1.     Which browser are you using?

2.     Are you facing same issue with any other games like internet spades?

I would suggest you to follow these methods and check.

Method 1: **** You may check if the issue appears in a clean boot state.

Refer this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

If the issue gets resolved, check which non-Microsoft service is causing the problem; referring to the article and following other steps.

**Note:**After you check the functionality in clean boot configure Windows to use Normal startup using the step 7 suggested in the link mentioned above.

Method 2: Temporarily disable the security software and check if the game works fine.

Refer this link: Disable antivirus software

**When you disable Antivirus:**Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you shouldn't disable your antivirus software. If you have to temporarily disable it to install other software, you should re-enable it as soon as you're done. If you're connected to the Internet or a network while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3: If the above step fails, temporarily disable Windows firewall and check if the game works fine.

Refer this link: Turn Windows Firewall on or off

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Note: After checking the functionality turn on Windows Firewall.

Hope this helps!

Who said the MS version is the only version I know??  I never said that.  I played on a real-life backgammon board for years.  That needs another partner, obviously.  As I said, I have a challenging profession (which IS RELEVANT HERE; how would you know it's not relevant?  Are you inside my brain?).  And playing backgammon online, without the need of a person in the same room, is just what I need.  You remind me of A MAN CALLED OVE.

Thanks Zlad, it's always nice to hear from the adolescents and snowflakes with their pathetic excuses for wit and repartee.

For the record, I never mentioned a "syndicate" and I didn't deny that a major source of the problem is MS.  I simply tried to point out that iMS version of Backgammon is rather sad -- as you are yourself.

It's nice to see that most Microsoft players have united & formed a syndicate toKILL their Network Connectionrather than forfeiting or resigning the game!!!

Yes guys there is NO problem from MS it's just syndicated players who formed a pact to KILL THEIR CONNECTION....

    Thanks Peewee, I mean Peeeeejay

ALL Hail to the BG King

I mean we are talking about BGs "Blow Good.."
