Can't install a language pack

Hello,

When i install a language pack, after the download and at the end of the installation progress bar, it says:

The following updates were not installed:

French Language Pack - Windows 8 for x64-based Systems - (KB2607607) [fr-FR_LP]

And there is no information about the error(s).

What can i do ? Is there somewhere i could see a detailed log with possibly more information about errors that occured ?

    I think the problem raises from having no response on first clicking something like Install Language Pack, but the installation starts in Background of the Windows. Because you don't see it, you wonder and click twice - this starts a second install attempt in background an one can not be finished. If you dare to cancel one, it starts a rollback and you are in language-pack ****. The Language-Pack installer should just test for another instance IMO to solve the Problem. Just be very carefull not to start installation twice by accident should work until there is a clean fix... this does of course not help once you startet it twice.

    So the only solution still is a new (factory settings) install of windows 8.1 ?

    It seems the only solution that really helps... It's no guarantee that it works first time, but eventually it should. Thank GOD we have such good support from Microsoft, we're really getting what we're paying for :)

    I suppose they're still too busy supporting an OS (XP) that should've been decommissioned a decade ago instead of supporting people who actually invest in new MS products!!!!!!!

    Try this:

    In Run dialog box(win+r) type 'msconfig'.

    In System Configuration in General tab select Diagnostic startup and click OK

    Restart your PC

    Install language pack

    Restart your PC

    Run msconfig

    Select Normal startup in General tab

    Restart your PC

    Try this:

    Install language pack

    Restart your PC

    Run msconfig

    Select Normal startup in General tab

    Restart your PC

    When I run Diagnostic startup the PC is offline.

    lpksetup and config setup don't work offline.

    Any other way to install the LP?

    It's in my Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder allready

    In the log file are 3 unable to find fails:

    peprovider

    wow64provider

    embeddedprovider
