Hello,

When i install a language pack, after the download and at the end of the installation progress bar, it says:

The following updates were not installed:

French Language Pack - Windows 8 for x64-based Systems - (KB2607607) [fr-FR_LP]

And there is no information about the error(s).

What can i do ? Is there somewhere i could see a detailed log with possibly more information about errors that occured ?

With me either! I expect Microsoft NOW to send us a fix, that will NOT cause me to spend half a day to reinstall all my Programs ( I will NOT call them Apps, before i ron my desktop with a OS that shows me a bitten fruit in the Start screen) I am so disapointed from Windows 8 especially and  the Microsoft staff in general !!!

Try restarting your computer and try the installation again. If that doesn't work, try clearing your cache from IE or even reset IE. Run the System File Checker sfc/scannow command in cmd as an administrator. If the problem continues because of a corrupted Microsoft profile, you might want to restore your profile and settings to the original factory condition (it's best not to unlink your Microsoft account at this moment yet) using the Factory Restore method (all desktop apps will have to be reinstalled after Factory Restore):

    1. Go to the Charms bar and tap settings > more PC settings.
    2. Tap on the general tab and scroll down.
    3. Under the Refresh your PC without affecting your files section, tap get started.
    4. Follow the onscreen instructions to complete the restore process.

    Here's what will happen:

    • Your files and personalization settings won't change.
    • Your PC settings will be changed back to their defaults.
    • Apps from Windows Store will be kept. However, the apps will be restored to their original factory condition as well.
    • Apps you installed from discs or websites will be removed.
    • A list of removed apps will be saved to your desktop. Try to find the app that is causing the problem you're facing.

This will take a few minutes, and your PC will restart. Plug in your PC before you start.
