Hello,
When i install a language pack, after the download and at the end of the installation progress bar, it says:
The following updates were not installed:
French Language Pack - Windows 8 for x64-based Systems - (KB2607607) [fr-FR_LP]
And there is no information about the error(s).
What can i do ? Is there somewhere i could see a detailed log with possibly more information about errors that occured ?

I'm also having this problem. I'm now using a UK keyboard as I bought the PC in Hong Kong and have returned home.
MS are eons behind Google and Apple in terms of usability. If it wasn't the only OS that played most PC games I frankly wouldn't ever give them a penny.
As I've finished writing this it seems to have worked, although of course I have to restart (another antiquated necessity). If it doesn't ultimately work I'll be back on here.
Same problem here as most of the other posters. I have the English and Japanese language packs installed, but when I try to install the French or Spanish language pack, they they won't install. I really don't feel like doing a "refresh" as I don't want to have to install all my 3rd party programs again. Frustrating.
Actually CHT is there, but you have to install it as CHT-Hong Kong rather than CHT-Taiwan.
I saw the zh-hk folder of lp.cab in the SW_DVD5_Win_8_64Bit_MultiLanguage_except_ChnTrad_Language_Pack_X18-17845.ISO
didn't tried to install, doesn;t that LP has a different encoding - HKSCS I believe, for the characters only Cantonese uses that Mandarin/Taiwanese doesn't use, i assume.
I know the IME are the same set of five, just the default is different, Hong Kong has Microsoft Quick, Taiwan has Microsoft New Phonetic.
Does the language pack work for both? no difference in translation?

i have done lpksetup with three CJK packs - zh-cn, ja-jp, kr-ko lp.cab (chinese traditional is still not available from microsoft licensing download, only 36 are available, for some bizarre reason, CHT is always late. 9? months since RTM is a bit ridiculous for localization) and it worked on machine with 84 programs installed, 50GB image. so it could work w/o clean install, just not reliable enough, especially doing the windows update route, which seem to fail more than success.
