    Hi Davemanvell,

From the description I understand that you would like to disable entering the password everytime you logout. I will definitely help you with this.

I would like to know more information about the issue, so that we could help you better.

    • What do you mean by "Windows 8 keeps logging me out"? What happens exactly?
    • Have you made any changes on the computer prior to this issue?

Method 1: I would suggest you to follow the steps under Turn Off or Shut down a PC from the link and check the status of the issue.

Method 2: If the issue persists, I would also suggest you to run the power troubleshooter and check if it works.

Follow the steps to run the troubleshooter:

    a. Press Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the Charmsbar.

    b. Type Troubleshooting and click Troubleshooting under Settings.

    c. Now type Power troubleshooter in the search option.

    d. Click on Power troubleshooter to run the troubleshooter.

I hope it helps. If you have any issues in future please let us know. We will be happy to help you.

Vijay, you totally misunderstood or didn't read the question thoroughly. He didn't say when "he" logged out, he said "WINDOWS 8" was logging him out. This has to be a setting in windows 8 that after a set period of time of inactivity it (windows 8) logs off on it's own.

So is there a way to either disable this, or at least lengthen the time before windows logs off.

    Thanks,

    Gary

That's correct. if I leave the system alone, after a few minutes (Maybe 15-30?) I am logged out automatically. I'd like to disable this so i never log out.

Screen save is set to None.

Computer is set to never sleep and to never hibernate.

It is also set to never turn off hard drives and the display.
