How can I disable this?

I only have one user account and will not have any others.

Had the same problem.

Solution: Control Panel/User Accounts/Reset security policies.

Has any one come up with the solution for Windows 8 and the nuisance of it logging you out so frequently.  It's a pain in my butt.

YO YO YO! If box isn't check in screen saver setting (mine wasn't checked like others). CHECK IT, APPLY, UNCEHCK, APPLY AGAIN. It worked for me. Sorry if you hate all caps but hopefully this will save some poor souls from the cruel creatures who run Microsoft.

    Keep calm and chive on

Why is something SOOOO basic to using a computer--like not logging us out when we are trying to get work done-- so difficult?  The designers who allowed Windows 8 to happen are extremely self-centered if they could not imagine a world where people are not constantly typing actively on the computer when it is integral to getting work done.   This makes my job take twice as long. Not to mention the time I am wasting trying to stop it from happening.

We need a Windows 8 Update --and soon.  Windows 8/ Windows 7 is like the Cell phone/Landline relationship.  More portable at at a great reduction in quality and overall function.

No I am not trying to be helpful.  I really want someone from Microsoft to explain why WIndows 8 is so difficult to use?   I haven't considered buying a Mac in years,  but I think it is time.
