You are definitely right Zack. Acer just released a newer version of the wireless driver so going through the steps again I did have to run the setup file.

I bought an Acer Iconia W700 and upon using Wi-Fi i noticed that my connection kept getting interrupted. It says i have "Limited" connectivity. I thought it was a temporary server or router problem, but upon further observation ( with my Ipad on the same network) i found out it was only the Iconia who is exhibiting the problem. I complained and had the unit replaced after a day but sadly, the new replacement is having the same problem.

2013-01-19T20:45:14+00:00 Yeah the latest driver fix the limited wifi issue. However, the new problem is the reduced download speed when we have tab far away from router say 70% signal strength. You can test this for yourself along with other mobile device say old phone. You will see w700 download speed is much lower than some old phone at the full download speed. Move again a little further, say 1 bar, w700 probably comes to a halt while old phone still at full speed. And that is the problem we have at hand. Drop wifi is fixed though. It may or may not matter to people have great high speed, but could be a great deal for those with lower speed connection. Plus paying expensive high speed connection and could get only lower download when using far away from router.

Yes, the reduced download speed is really another issue that the good folks at Acer needs to look at. The updated driver does away with the dropped wifi connection, but it introduces another different problem altogether. as i mentioned before, if you are adventurous enough, head on down to Acer community forums and try beta versions of the driver. some claimed it solves the reduce download speed issue, some claimed it doesn't do anything. as to why people with the same machine have varying results with the same driver, i have no answer to that.
