WI-FI connection repeatedly goes"Limited" on Windows 8 Tablet

I bought  an Acer Iconia W700 and upon using Wi-Fi i noticed that my connection kept getting interrupted. It says i have  "Limited" connectivity. I thought it was a temporary server or router problem,  but upon further observation ( with my Ipad on the same network) i found out it was only the Iconia who is exhibiting the problem. I complained and had the unit replaced after a day but sadly, the new replacement is having the same problem.

    Okay, I think this time Acer really fixes it. You need to download the latest wifi driver in Acer's support page for this tablet.

    Then, you need to go to your device manager and uninstall the network device. Reboot it. Then go back into device manager again and you should see unknown device. If you don't, remove the network device again and reboot. Once you see that unknown device, install it's driver by browsing into the folder where you extract the wifi driver.

    This has fixed my issue for good. This has been my longest run without limited issue, at least.

    Please note that just by updating your driver won't fix it. You have to remove the drivers completely so that your machine shows it as unknown device then install the latest driver.

    This tablet is now an awesome machine!

    i had this problem every day since i got the w700 up until yesterday (about 3 weeks). it has been a full 24 hour without "limited internet" and NO disconnects. all i did was i stopped using google chrome. the windows 8 app version of chrome seems to be the real problem, bu i still experienced disconnects using the desktop version of chrome. since i downloaded and started using firefox, i have had zero disconnects and everything is working smooth. i would prefer to use the app version of chrome since it is so nice. but i  will have to wait for a fix. this might be your problem too.

    I returned mine W700. Only stayed with it for 10 days because of these problem...

    If it was a Win 8 issue, it'd affect everyone. My tablet works fine. Granted, I don't have a W700. I'm using an HP TMT2 (originally Win 7). I'm just reading up on the W700s, as I plan to get one.

    I'm sorry to hear that.

    After uninstalling McAfee and reinstalling the latest WLan drivers, I have not experienced the Limited WiFi issue even if I switch from application to application (which access the internet) and from desktop mode to metro modem, which usually were the triggers of the Limited WiFi issue for me.
