Windows 8 Login Screen - Mouse/Keyboard Stop Working

I was on my computer when I got a BSOD on Windows 8 -- It restarted and when it's booting my keyboard lights up, and my mouse. Once I get to the welcome screen both turn off and stop working. I've enabled USB Legacy support in the BIOS and I've also tried every one of my USB ports. I do not have a PS2 port so that is not an option. I've tried doing Shift + F8 during boot to get to the recovery console and no luck there either. This is really frustrating.

    You've reached the right forum for your question. As I understand, you cannot enter the password at the login screen. I would suggest you to follow the troubleshooting steps to check if it helps.

    1. What is the make and model of the computer?
    2. Did you make any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
    3. Is the issue confined after upgrading to Windows 8?

    You may try to boot the computer in Safe mode and check if the issue persists. Follow these steps to start the computer in safe mode.

    a) Press the ‘Windows + C’ key on the keyboard.

    b) Click on settings, more pc settings and then general.

    c) Scroll down to advanced startup, click restart now.

    d) Click on troubleshoot, advanced options, Windows Startup Settings.

    e) Click restart, select safe mode and then press enter.

    Note: Restart the computer to start in normal mode.

    Please reply with the results. I would be glad to assist you further.

    The following worked for me:

    I used team viewer to remote connect to the pc, and then I uninstalled all the USB devices and then rebooted.

    That solved the problem.

    Yeah i have the same problem, tried different mousen mouse and keyboard works fine for bios, recovery found nothing wrong, restore failed, chkdsk found no probs with hdd, i need a solution, that doesnt rrquire reinstallation !!!!
