I had the same problem of my wifi showing limited everytime I connect. After searching in internet for 2 hours and trying various options like netsh reset, disable\enable, network discovery on, power saver change mode, tcip reset, ip config manual, metered download enable etc. nothing worked!

But then I thought to reinstall my WLAN driver. In my case, my lenovo laptop had drivers in the path D:\drivers\WLAN. I launched the setup and reinstalled and hurrah I am able to connect without any problem now!!!

Hi Rahid,

Thank you for posting here!

I would recommend you to follow these steps and check if it helps.

Does this issue occur while connecting it through a wired network?

Method 1

Run Network troubleshooter.

a. Press “windows Key + W”. from the start screen

b. Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and hit enter.

c. Select “Network and Internet” option

d. First select “Internet connections” troubleshooter.

e. Follow the on-screen instructions.

f. Then select “Network Adapter” troubleshooter and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2

I would suggest you to try the steps from the link given below:

Method 3:

Try resetting  TCP/IP.

Reset TCPIP and check  if it works.

Follow the steps

a) Boot to the desktop view.

b) Open command prompt, right click in the left corner when the Start window appear and select command prompt (admin).

c) At the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Note: If you do not want to specify a directory path for the log file, use the following command:

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

d) Reboot the computer.

Hi I am having trouble with my internet connection via my laptop, I have super fast internet up to 152mbps with virgin media however on my laptop I lose connection randomly and it will say limited when checking the connection rather than connected when it's working.

i have the yellow triangular exclamation logo pop up on the lower menu seen onscreen on top of the connection bar logo.

i have checked my wifi adapter is up to date and I'm still lost on what to do.

my network adapter is which I connect to the wifi called

Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi-fi Adapter (listed 100% accurately  as seen)

wifi fi status is when i click onto network connections via control panel ( I left click my mouse button twice to view the wifi status I'm using.

    IPv4 connectivity: internet

    IPv6 connectivity: no network access

    media state: enabled

SSID (basically my service provider and wifi name to pop up when looking for wifi connections available to anyone looking for wifi networks).

    speed: 72.0 Mbps

    signal quality: full green bars

sent 22 million bytes (changes every now and then)  recieved 1,000,966,338

i have an ipad connected and other devices and perfomynace is not affected the can pick up the 5g network however my laptop only picks up 2g (I'm sure in the past I've picked up 5g on my laptop before internet trouble), for the record I am frightened to connect to the 5g on my tablet as I dont want to mess up any connectivity.

could you send me an email ******@hotmail.co.uk thanks

it is becoming a real nuisance
