WIFI connection shows Limited Access windows 8

I use windows 8 enterprise evaluation.i can use wife network but it show access limited often.i disconnect wifi and reconnect it solve.i feel disgust....

HP pavilion G6-1262er ....broadcom 4313gn 802.11b/g/n 1x1 wifi adapter

security type:WPA2-PSK

i update device it couldnt solve.uninstall and install device couldnt.

Please answer my question.what must i do??? :)

I had the same problem of my wifi showing limited everytime I connect. After searching in internet for 2 hours and trying various options like netsh reset, disable\enable, network discovery on, power saver change mode, tcip reset, ip config manual, metered download enable etc. nothing worked!

But then I thought to reinstall my WLAN driver. In my case, my lenovo laptop had drivers in the path D:\drivers\WLAN. I launched the setup and reinstalled and hurrah I am able to connect without any problem now!!!

I would recommend you to follow these steps and check if it helps.

Does this issue occur while connecting it through a wired network?

Method 1

Run Network troubleshooter.

a. Press “windows Key + W”. from the start screen

b. Type “Troubleshooting” in the search box and hit enter.

c. Select “Network and Internet” option

d. First select “Internet connections” troubleshooter.

e. Follow the on-screen instructions.

f. Then select “Network Adapter” troubleshooter and then follow the on-screen instructions.

Method 2

I would suggest you to try the steps from the link given below:

Method 3:

Try resetting TCP/IP.

Reset TCPIP and check if it works.

Follow the steps

a) Boot to the desktop view.

b) Open command prompt, right click in the left corner when the Start window appear and select command prompt (admin).

c) At the command prompt, copy and paste (or type) the following command and then press ENTER:

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

Note: If you do not want to specify a directory path for the log file, use the following command:

netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt

d) Reboot the computer.

hi,

I have a samsung labtop with windows 8 and ive had the same issue with you.

one of the reason the connection shows up as "limited" is because there is something with the IP address.

you can either assign a static IP address to your computer or hook your computer to a server that assigns IP address for you. this is done thought the window mentioned by davestormb and jollyman.

It's possible that your computer is using a static IP address, and when you go outside and try to connect to other peoples wi-fi, they cant find you because your IP address is not recognized with in the network you are trying to connect to.

what you can do is to let your computer get ip automatically as suggested by jollyman. if that fails to solve the problem, you can always assign your ip address manually as suggested by davstormb, however you will have to do this every time you try to connect to a new network. to find out the subnet mask and default gate way just go on a computer that is already in the network you want to go on and type in "ipconfig" in command prompt. Knowing a set of working ip, mask and gateway you can make up a new ip for yourself. which ever section the mask shows 225 the same part in the new ip address must stay the same with the working ip address with the computer that is already within the network, change the other parts in you new IP address to something random. there, with that you should be able to obtain a working ip address for the network you want to be on.

if that fails to work and if you happens to have hamachi on your computer, try uninstalling it.

I did all those things and none of them worked.. My laptop still says "limited connection" and won't connect to the internet
