Windows RT and Cisco VPN connections

I'm a little worried about Windows RT's (current) inability to connect to Cisco firewalls via VPN.The only thing I can find on this issue is finger pointing between Cisco and Microsoft. I understand Cisco needs to create an app, but can they with the current restraints? It should be a no brainer for Microsoft to do what they can to make this happen.

This is pretty much a make or break need for us. I really wanted to give Windows RT a chance but if this isn't cleared up, I have no compelling case to deploy Windows tablets.

Does anyone know if Microsoft will work with Cisco on this? Or do you think this is getting squashed for a reason? I don't see why because MS is allowing other VPN connections.

    This all comes down to someone at Microsoft waking up and realizing what they really have here.  With 2 key components missing (Outlook RT and true VPN support), making this device a true replacement of an iPad will not happen and those of us that want this to work for what we do in our jobs as well as for all the other great things a tablet can do will be forced to go back to an iPad.  The fear of cannabilizing Surface Pro sales is very short sighted and misses the need and place for a device like this that is NOT meant as a laptop replacement but rather as a great tablet that can pinch in as a work tool for that occasional VPN/RDP session into a client as well as Office.  There are 2 markets here and Microsoft can dominate this one - the one that does not need or see this as a laptop replacement if they'd just not be afraid of their own success.

    I am also adding my vote here. As a consultant I often have to connect remotely to clients. Many of whom use Juniper firewalls.

    I bought this Surface RT as an iPad replacement for the better hardware and the access to the office RT suite. Not having VPN actually means it is less functional for me than my iPad which had a client for most common vpn providers. This means I may have to sell this instead of the iPad. The Pro looks great but I use this as a tablet with occasional need to vpn into a client, not as a laptop replacement.

    Yes, I can't afford a Pro, and after enjoying the spectacular battery life of RT, don't really want to. So I need Cisco VPN support too.
